MFF qualified parachutists with the pre requisite number of jumps (usually set by the parent unit) can undergo the military tandem master course (MTM). During phase 1, candidates will complete & pass the skills needed to become a basic military tandem instructor. Phase 2 will teach candidates how to carry a passenger who is equipped with a rucksack, weapon and oxygen. This skill must be mastered in a daytime environment before moving to night operations. Successful candidates who pass the phase 2 will then start the third and final phase. Here candidates are taught to jump the military tandem tethered bundle (MTTB), a means of parachuting up to 400 lbs of equipment into theater. These jumps will be conducted in both day and night configuration.
This stand-alone course can be run for up to 8 students. However, with prior arrangement, a course for 2 students can be conducted at the same time as a basic MFF course or HAHO Course.
